Basadi Bakopane is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO No. 033-504) founded in 2004 with a vision to empower youth and promote sustainable development across South Africa. We focus on creating pathways for youth to become successful leaders, entrepreneurs, and role models in their communities. Our programmes target vulnerable groups, providing mentorship, skills development, and entrepreneurial training.
We believe in fostering a generation that can break the cycles of poverty and inequality through practical interventions and knowledge-sharing. By empowering young people to lead and thrive, we are contributing to a stronger, more inclusive society.
June 2004
We began with stationery, clothes, and food donations to schools and vulnerable families.
Over the next decade, we expanded with:
Blanket and hygiene kit drives for the homeless and women in need
Sanitary pad campaigns to support girls’ school attendance
Seasonal food packs and vegetable garden support in township communities

We partnered with Uitkoms Home for Girls, Othandweni Childress home the 1st of many centres that we work with.

We were blessed to reach 100 volunteers in over 3 provinces KZN, Gauteng and Free State. people who selflessly give of their time to help those in need.
